Just for fun, magpie room-inspection

Today I painted a pair of magpies inspecting a room. I just let it go and painted as I felt. Took me about 3-4 hours to finish and it's about 16 in.

Today I painted a White duck. It's nice to just leave open the white and only paint the darker parts.

This horse was painted in just black and white acrylics. It is a grey Lipizzaner horse. 

Size: 38x46 cm/15x18 inch.

At the moment I'm working on a smal painting of a crested tit. I'll just use black and white. I have to loose all the detail and still give the impression of a 3D bird. In the background I'll make a treatrunk. 

Today I drew my first portret Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands

Instead of painting an animal I wanted to do something different. So I drew a portret of Queen Beatrix in charcoal. 

Glossy starling challenge.

It was a real challenge to get the shine in this glossy starling. In the green parts it was created by letting the white paper shine trough. In the purple/blue parts it was done with white paint. I like he wings better.

Today I painted a little Chinese White-eye in a flowering tree. I used only watercolours and a lot of water in the painting. I like the white eye in the centre.
